Lost/Stolen Sheltie
My late father gave Casey to me for my birthday when I was a teenager.  Her breeder's children had named her Dolly, I chose to name her Casey but kept Dolly as part of her registered name. She is 14 years old now as I am typing this. While she was not my very first Sheltie she was my start in breeding and showing. At only 14 inches at the shoulder she was a bit small to be competitive in the ring and I was unable to show a dog until I moved out and started college, by then I felt it was too late to start. Casey did give me two litters of puppies, she is the dam of Joy, Millie & Mister Chance. Casey did go on to work sheep & yard fowl until the age of 10. Casey worked as a therapy dog at the local nursing home until the age of 12 there she brought joy to so many.  At the age of 13 she got her RN title with placements.  I am sure that had I been older and more events (such as agility & akc herding) been available during her youth, Casey would have gone on to earn many more titles. Casey is a true member of the family and has been and done so much with me and is such a huge part of my life  I wish I had the space to say more. Thanks to breeder Therese Laughlin for taking the chance on a teenager.
