| During any given time of the year we may have a rescue or two that we foster via Southern Alabama Sheltie Rescue. I foster only two rescues at a time but I do have contacts to other rescue groups/individuals. Rescues are current on all vaccinations and other vet work, heart worm tested and treated if positive, microchiped and spayed or neutered before adoption. During the time they are being fostered each dog is worked with and learns basic obedience and house manners. There is a contract and adoption fee, the adoption fee of 150.00 helps to cover some of the vet bills. Rescues can not be adopted with registration papers. If you are interested in doing performance events with a rescue you may apply for an ILP through the American Kennel Club and I will he happy to assist you with this. We also can not make any guarantee on the genetic health of a rescue. I will try to keep pictures of current foster dogs posted but because I am not a computer person please email me for current information and pictures on rescues. Those dogs on this page that have the city and state listed under their names are past fosters that have been adopted. I hope to get a website just for rescues going soon We do not adopt to the following cities/states because there are rescues in those areas that I know to be antibreeder (in other words will not work with a breeder who's dog has accidently ended up in their organization and/or will not contact the owner of a microhiped animal and/or return a micrhiped animal to the owner listed with the recovery service ). Also I do not adopt to cities/states that I deem to be unsafe to have a pet because of extreme animal rights activism. The cities and states are: Louisville KY and any area near Louisville KY Wisconsin North Carolina We do not support ANTIBREEDER rescue organizations/individuals! Please BEWARE when supporting animal rights groups. Some groups will push their agenda at the expense of your beloved pet. Thoughly research any group before you lend your support if you care about owning ANY domesticated animal.
