The Non-Canine Gang At Caithream
Besides the dogs I share my life with a few more critters as well. I have birds that bark and a cat who defiantly thinks he is a dog. Although they will never compete in shows or win awards, they have earned a place in my heart and defiantly deserve their own web page.

Rusty Rusty is a 8 year old Birmingham Roller Pigeon. Rusty was rescued as a baby from an auction he was nearly dead and I revived him. Because Rusty couldn't care for himself I had to feed him. I knew nothing about Pigeons and I want to send a big thanks to Danny Murphy (who owns racing pigeons) for educating me on Pigeon husbandry. Rusty has no idea that he is a Pigeon I think he thinks he is a parrot. My very ugly baby grew up to be a very pretty bird.

Hogan Hogan is a 20 year old Red Sided Eclectus Parrot. He came to live with us after he lost his home thanks to Hurricane Katrina. Prior to the hurricane he lived with a friend of mine. Hogan has a BIG mouth and speaks English and Bird. He likes to have his way ALL the time and loves to compete with me when I am on the phone. If you call me one thing is for sure you will get to hear Hogan. I was unprepared to house Hogan and Hogan lost his cage in the storm. I would like to thank everyone who helped me get a cage, accessories and veterinary care for Hogan.
Pat Pat is a year old Maine Coon Mix. I had no idea of his mix when I got him though. But then he grew and grew into a HUGE cat and his type is very simalar to a Maine Coon.. I was so saddened by the death of my beloved Persian, Digger that for two years I didn't want to consider another cat. Last May (2007) my best friend and I were buying Day lilies at a local flea market and we saw a kid giving Pat to an animal vendor. They had given all the kittens away but one and had to leave. My friend scooped him up and handed him to me. He is marked very much like Digger was and is the same orange tabby color. Because he was born sometime around St Patrick's Day I named him Pat. Pat thinks he is dog. He LOVES dogs. Isn't afraid of them and boldly walks up to any dog. He loves to torment cats especially female cats. He acts more like a dog than a cat, and he is my new gardening buddy.

George George is a orange classic (also sometimes called blotched) tabby. He was adopted from the Coweta Animal Shelter in Georgia.I had been looking for a tabby his color and markings for sometime and I had no idea how hard they can be to find. I received an email via a yahoogroup with his picture. He was due to be euthanized within an hour. After a quick series of email's and phone calls a volunteer had George safe from death at the shelter and headed to the his new home all the way on the Gulf Coast. I want to thank all the wonderful volunteers who help save the lives of animals at this shelter and all shelters. If you would like to adopt a Coweta Kid please see their web site Coweta Kids Animal Shelter
